Cooper River Bridge

It's nothing new, but the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston has officially been replaced by a newer, wider model.

I miss the old bridge, when you felt like you were always on the very edge and could be swept off at any given moment. You could look out the window of your car and gaze out across miles of deep, dark ocean. It was beautiful, and now its gone.

The new one has barriers for those sissy tourists, so that you can't hardly get a glimpse of the sea anymore. It doesn't even feel like you're off the ground, which is one of the thrills of crossing a bridge. I hate it.

But on the bright side, people haven't stopped in the middle and pissed themselves yet. ;)

The MSI concert was a blast (now how clique does THAT sound?). But really, it was, aside from the smartass drunks who were directly behind us for the ENTIRE show, and people screaming "WUMPSCUT!" at random moments.

I liked Bella Morte the best, and then MSI (only because MSI dragged on for-fucking-ever). The other guys weren't even worth it...

I'm tired as shit, hope everybody's had a good week...g'night.

Land of the Dead was good, considering the shitty "horror" movies like Boogyman, The Grudge, and The Honeymooners that have been out lately. Not lacking any gore, and featuring that biker dude from Dawn (the one with the weird beard), I definatly enjoyed it... but it was so serious. DRAMATIC MUSIC and everything... I did get a few laughs though, and think it was worth the money. Batman was good too, I heard from my stepdad. Best so far or something.

So how is everyone else today?

The new Amityville Horror was gimpy as hell. They threw in demonic rituals, a slutty babysitter, and went waaaay overboard with the strobe lights... but I actually liked it better than LotD! It did good for a remake of a "crazy-father-and-victimized-family-in-a-haunted-house" themed movie. I thought they did a better job of conveying the father's ill mind, but at the same time, all the psychologic thrills were crushed by stupid ghost babies with holes through their heads...I like movies where the "ghosts and demons" are not literally "ghosts and demons". When they're symbolic of something wrong with the person and/or society in general...

That's it. I'm taking up reading again.

Tomorrow I'm going to the beach, yipee ki yi yay...my mother is determined for me to follow in her footsteps and get skin cancer...um, a tan.
